Ok, so we are going to discount Chelsea in this discussion, as they are more than likely going to go on a run of wins and rise right up the table.
We are going to talk about Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Norwich City.
We here at FPL Cafe believe that Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Newcastle and Norwich are worthy of this as they all haven't been having a good season. Swansea City could be dragged into the Relegation zone but we don't think they will. We are going to focus on the latter.
Aston Villa are having a pretty awful season so far, even that 1-1 draw against Manchester City at home, didn't really do much for morale. It seemed more to drain them, than anything else. One draw in the last six games isn't something to shout about even with new manager Remi Garde's arrival.
That being said, people are still picking Aston Villa players for their FPL sides Rudy Gestede, Brad Guzan, Jack Grealish and surprisingly Micah Richards is picked the most, 8% in fact.
Bournemouth are fairing slightly better in terms of points than Aston Villa, with two draws in their last six matches. Jamie Redknapp exclaimed at the season's start that because of Bournemouth's brand of football / style of play, that they would have enough to stay up. Well, for Jamie's sake, I hope that is true.
Bournemouth's next fixture this Everton, from which, I don't see them getting a whole lot. Could be another loss on the cards for Eddie Howe's men.
Again, slightly better with two wins in their last six games, Sunderland. I believe, that the Black Cats have the best chance of making it out of the Relegation zone before Christmas. Especially, under Sam Allardyces tenure and the hope that Jermain Defoe can keep scoring goals.
Still doesn't bold well for them in FPL terms as their highest % picked player is Costel Pantilimon on 0.9%.
Their Northern neighbours, Newcastle have a similar streak with two wins in six. They will need to keep that run going, if they are to stay out of the Relegation zone. It is going to take a lot as well with their two highest picked FPL players Georginio Wijnaldum and Daryl Janmaat not even picked by 3% of FPL managers.
But, failing that, Wijnaldum still has the greater possibility of scoring goals than Janmaat, remember the Norwich game. So, if Newcastle are to make a surge up the table, they will need this Dutch man to be fit and firing.
Finally, we end this article with Norwich City. Norwich once reached the heights of 8th place in the table this season, once! After that though, it has been a downward curve for most of the season. Only recently, did they reach a high of 14th before sliding to where they currently stand in 16th.
Going up against Arsenal at home in their next fixture is definitely going to be tough and they really do need to stop the spiral down the table that they currently find themselves in. If this doesn't stop, they could find themselves in a precarious position with both Sunderland and Newcastle coming into form at the right time.
Norwich could very well slide into a relegation dog fight with Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
